Tere tere!!
It´s been a busy week with lots of contacting, door knocking and a
trip to Tallinn! One evening we were out knocking and a wonderful lady
opened up her door and let us in. Her husband joined us and we had a
wonderful lesson with them! We gave them a Book of Mormon each and they
asked how they could repay us, we just said: "Simply read them!" They
agreed to doing so! When we were about to walk out their door after the
lesson we turned to them and asked if there was anything we could do to
help them? The husband replied: "You have already helped us! The feeling
you brought here is much better then before" Me and Sister Tholen flew
home on clouds after that comment! :) We had both felt that it was an
amazing lesson, but hearing that they thought so too was very rewarding!
I just love being a missionary! The most random things happen!! We
had a funny little experience when street contacting last week! ..We
were talking to a woman who was out with her baby, She wasn´t very
interested and the conversation ended fairly quickly, but while that
conversation was going on I noticed how 3 nuns walking past us. ..So as I
said, the conversation ended fairly quickly and Õde Tholen and I
started looking for someone new to talk to. When doing so one of the
nuns snuck upp behind us and started talking! She had heard us speak to
the lady with the baby and she was so excited to hear american accents!
(apparently I sound american when I speak Estonian, because I had been
the one talking..!) She lives at a monestary out on Saremaa, she invited
us to go there and visit them sometime. We said thank you but I don´t
think that will be possible because as missionaries here in Estonia I
don´t think we can go to Saremaa ( I also don´t think we can visit
monestaries as missionaries..) Before she left she said well it was nice
to meet you..? Then looked at our nametags and said "Oh your `Õde´
already! ..I´ve been waiting for YEARS to be called "sister".. Still
waiting! Poor woman! ..Right after she took off, a young-ish man ran up
to us, gave us high-fives, then happily skipped away while shouting
"Jesus is the BEST! Hallelujah! God Bless You!".
Tallinn was great! We had a conference with Elder Snow who was here
to do some church history work here in Estonia! While here he made sure
he had time to talk to all the missionaries here in Estonia! It was a
really good experience! He talked a lot about the importance of writing
down our experiences keeping all sorts of recordings, it is through them
that we will be able to have knowledge about the church history in the
future! I mean all the knowledge we have today from the early days of
the church is what member of then wrote down! So no matter how
insignificant your day may seem, write down, keep your own recordings!
It will be valuable for generations to come!!
That was all for this week! Until next - Ma armastan teid!
Armastusega,
Õde Peterson

19Love to read your comments about your week. You have such interesting things happen. It is good to write them down because they are so easy to forget. You will never regret taking the time to write them.
Sarah Vandor and Rebecca Heijke came over for dinner on Sunday. We had such a nice visit. They are wonderful women. We were so blessed to know you all. We are so glad we did not miss that opportunity. We love you. We will keep you in our prayers.
